Paralegal

Job Description

We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our legal team as a paralegal. The successful candidate should know business law principles, corporate governance practices, trademark registration procedures, and intellectual property rights to assist lawyers in preparing for hearings, trials, and corporate meetings.

Due diligence: Thorough investigation to evaluate the risks and benefits of a business transaction or legal matter.

Experience: Prior experience working as a paralegal or in a legal support role, with a strong understanding of basic legal concepts and terminology.

Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.

Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications, with experience in case management software preferred.

Knowledge: Business law principles, corporate governance practices, trademark registration procedures, and intellectual property rights.


Responsibilities

Maintaining and updating corporate records, including business licenses, registrations, and other legal documentation.

Ensuring compliance with all relevant local and international regulations. Preparing and submitting required reports and filings to government authorities.

Assisting in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements. Maintaining organized records of legal documents and contracts.

Providing administrative support to the legal department, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and managing department files.

Conducting legal research on various topics and regulations as directed by the legal department.

Accurately entering and maintaining data in corporate databases and information systems.

Assisting in other general administrative tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.


Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Reference letter from legal firm or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in corporate administration, legal support, or a related field is a plus.

  • Minimum +1 year experience in law firm.

Additional Skills (preferred)

  • Experience with specific practice areas such as corporate law, contract law, trademark law, intellectual property law, and land law.

  • Experience assisting with trademark searches, trademark clearance opinions, and trademark prosecution matters.

  • Academic background or coursework in business administration, corporate law, trademarks, or intellectual property law.

    Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in another language is a plus.

    Ability to multi-task, and manage deadlines simultaneously, and manage demanding workload efficiently.

    Stay current with developments in relevant laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of business law, corporate governance, trademarks, and intellectual property.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality, transparency, responsibility, and professionalism.

  • Problem Solving Abilities:

    Clear communication is vital for effective problem-solving. Adaptability, persistence, and collaboration.

  • Adaptability & Flexibility:

    Conduct legal research on various topics using online resources and legal databases, focus on business law, corporate governance, trademarks, and intellectual property.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork:

    Compatibility in terms of work style, responsiveness, and availability is important for a productive lawyer-client relationship.

  • Communication & Coordination:

    Communicate effectively with clients, government, and other parties to gather information, coordinate meetings, and assist with depositions and discovery processes.
